Rameetay Dara above the lake
Walk on from Bokar Monastery to Rameetay Dara, the high ground of Mirik, for a view over the lake, the tea slopes and the valley towards Nepal. Short, easy and best on a clear morning.

Rameetay Dara is the ridge near Bokar Monastery, the highest ground around Mirik at roughly 1,770 m. Locals use the name for both the viewpoint and the slope around it.
From the top you look down on Sumendu Lake and the town, across the tea gardens and orange orchards of the valley, and west into the hills of Nepal. On the clearest winter mornings the snow peaks show to the north.
Walk up from Bokar in 10–15 minutes. There is little shade or shelter, so carry water and a hat in spring.
