Mouchuki forest camp on the Dooars side
Approach Neora Valley from the south, from Samsing in the Dooars, and sleep at the forest corporation's Mouchuki camp inside the park. Lower forest, rivers, birds and the quiet of a camp with no village around it.

Most visitors know Neora only from Lava, but the park's southern side, above Samsing near Chalsa in the Dooars, is just as interesting and much less visited. The West Bengal Forest Development Corporation runs a small camp at Mouchuki in this part of the park, reached by a forest road from Samsing.
This is the lower and middle forest: broadleaf trees, streams, tree ferns and a different set of birds from the high Lava side, with hornbills and Dooars species not far below. Guided walks from the camp follow forest trails; your guide will tell you which are open. Nights are quiet and very dark.
Book Mouchuki on wbfdc.net, where rooms are listed at about ₹2,000, and confirm what meals and transport are included. Park entry and guide fees are separate. The camp and the road close in the monsoon, and access changes, so check current status before you travel. Combine it with Samsing, Suntalekhola and Gorumara for a Dooars-and-forest trip.
Cost: ≈ ₹2,000 a room + fees and guide (indicative)

Good to know
Where is Mouchuki camp?
Mouchuki is a forest corporation camp inside Neora Valley National Park on its southern, Dooars side, reached by a forest road from Samsing, near Chalsa and Lataguri. It is listed on the WBFDC website. Access and road condition change, so check current status before you travel.
How do I book Mouchuki camp?
Book on the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation site, wbfdc.net, where Mouchuki is listed among the Kalimpong-area properties. Bookings usually open about three months ahead. Confirm meals, transport from Samsing and park permits when you book.
Can I combine Neora Valley with Gorumara?
Yes. From the Samsing side, Gorumara and Lataguri are about an hour away by road. A good plan is two nights in the Neora hills (Lava or Mouchuki) and two in the Dooars for a jeep safari. Both close in the monsoon, roughly mid-June to mid-September.
