Singhik Tourist Lodge
A Sikkim Tourism lodge on the Singhik ridge, 4 km above Mangan, chosen for its view across the Teesta gorge to Kanchenjunga and Siniolchu. Simple rooms, a calm first night on the way north, and a sunrise view a few steps from the door.

Government tourist lodges were built in Sikkim's viewpoint villages to give travellers a dependable bed at a fair price, and the one at Singhik was placed for the view. From its terrace and west-facing rooms you look over the deep Teesta valley to the Kanchenjunga massif and Siniolchu. On clear mornings from October to April, that alone justifies the night.
Rooms are simple, and service follows government-lodge standards rather than hotel ones. Use it as a quiet first night on a North Sikkim trip, splitting the long drive to Lachung or Lachen, or as a base for Mangan and Dzongu. We have not been able to confirm current booking channels and rates, so contact Sikkim Tourism or a Gangtok agent before you travel and check that the lodge is operating.
Why we suggest it
- West-facing view of Kanchenjunga and Siniolchu at sunrise
- A cheaper, gentler first night than going straight to Lachung
- Close to Mangan for Dzongu permits and shared jeeps

Questions people ask
Good to know
How do I book the Singhik Tourist Lodge?
Through Sikkim Tourism or a Gangtok travel agent. Booking channels change, so call or ask an agent before you travel and confirm that the lodge is operating. In October and April, book a few weeks ahead for a view room.
Does the Singhik lodge have a Kanchenjunga view?
Yes, that is its main attraction. The lodge looks west across the Teesta gorge to the Kanchenjunga massif and Siniolchu. Views are clearest at sunrise from October to April; cloud often hides the peaks later in the day and in the monsoon.
Is Singhik Tourist Lodge good for families?
Yes. It is quiet, at a mild altitude of about 1,560 m, and breaks the long drive north into two easier days. Rooms are simple. Bring warm layers for winter nights and confirm meals when you book.
