Ramitey Dara is a ridge-top clearing below Sillery Gaon with one of the strangest views in the Kalimpong hills. Far below, the Teesta, the river that drains almost all of Sikkim, winds through its valley in a long series of tight bends. Locals usually count 14 of them; some say 11; it depends on the light and how you count. Behind the river, the hills of Sikkim rise ridge after ridge.

The walk from the village is about 3 km each way on a trail and rough road through pine forest and fields, with a fair amount of up and down. Allow about 3 hours return with time at the top. A local guide, about ₹500–800, helps you find the right path and the best spot. Some people go by car most of the way.

Go in the morning: by midday haze often softens the river, and cloud can fill the valley. October and November give the sharpest views; after the monsoon the river runs high and brown. Carry water and a snack; there is little at the top except prayer flags and the view.
