Walk up to Ahaldara from Latpanchar
Skip the car and walk the 5 km road from Latpanchar village to the Ahaldara top, through cinchona plantations and forest edge, with birds along the way and the view as a reward.
The road from Latpanchar to Ahaldara climbs steadily through plantation and forest. On foot it takes about 1.5–2 hours up, and the slow pace lets you notice what a car misses: birds in the trees, flowers in the cuttings, cinchona trees by the road.
Start after breakfast in the dry season, carry water and a snack, and aim to be on top by mid-morning before cloud rises. Walk back down the same way or arrange for your homestay car to fetch you.
This is a road walk, not a trail. Keep to the side and watch for occasional vehicles on bends.
