Two-day loop via Tonglu, Tumling and Chitrey
A short, complete taste of the Singalila Ridge: climb from Dhotrey to Tonglu through forest, sleep at Tumling with the Kanchenjunga sunrise, then walk down via Meghma and Chitrey to Maneybhanjan. Ideal for a long weekend.

Day one: take a morning jeep from Maneybhanjan to Dhotrey with your guide, then climb the forest trail to Tonglu in 3–4 hours. Walk over to Tumling for the night, a short ridge stroll, and spend the afternoon watching the light change on the mountains.
Day two: wake for the Kanchenjunga sunrise, eat breakfast and walk back down along the main trail via Meghma, with its monastery, and Chitrey, with its chorten, to Maneybhanjan. It is about 10.5 km and 3.5–4 hours, mostly downhill. Take a jeep from Maneybhanjan back to Darjeeling in the afternoon.
The loop gives you forest, a summit, a border village, a monastery and a big mountain view in two days, with only one night at altitude. You need park entry and a licensed guide for both days.
Cost: ≈ ₹4,000–6,000 pp all in from Maneybhanjan
