Mt. Narsing Village Resort

A long-running cottage resort on the edge of Ravangla, with small wooden cottages in a garden and views across to the Kanchenjunga range on clear days. Quieter than staying in Ravangla bazaar and close to the Buddha Park road.

Mt. Narsing Village Resort takes its name from Mount Narsing, one of the peaks of the Kanchenjunga range visible from Ravangla. It has been running for many years as a cottage-style stay a little outside the bazaar, which means quieter nights and a garden to sit in, at the cost of a short taxi ride or walk into town for jeeps and food stalls.

Cottages are simple and wood-built, with a dining room serving home-style meals. It sits in our Comfort tier rather than Shoestring, so it suits couples and families who want one good base for Buddha Park, Ralang and the Maenam walk. Rates and inclusions change by season, so ask directly and confirm before you pay.

Why we suggest it

  • Wooden cottages in a garden instead of a bazaar hotel
  • Mountain views on clear mornings from October to April
  • A calm base for Buddha Park, Ralang and Maenam

Questions people ask

Good to know

How far is Mt. Narsing Village Resort from Buddha Park?

Buddha Park (Tathagata Tsal) is a few kilometres from Ravangla bazaar, a short taxi ride from the resort. Local taxis wait in the bazaar and charge a fixed fare for the round trip; ask your hosts for the current rate. Go early in the morning for the clearest view of the statue against the mountains.

Is Mt. Narsing Village Resort good for families?

Yes, for families who want space and quiet. The cottages sit in a garden, the drives to Buddha Park, Ralang and Temi are short, and the resort serves meals so you need not go out at night. Confirm extra-bed charges and heating in winter when you book.

Can I reach the resort by shared jeep?

Shared jeeps from Siliguri, Jorethang, Namchi and Gangtok run to Ravangla bazaar. From there take a local taxi or walk, depending on your luggage. Ask the resort for directions or a pickup when you book, and check the last jeep times, which are usually before mid-afternoon.
