Ridge walk from Ramdhura to Icchey Gaon
Walk about 2.5 km along the ridge from Ramdhura to Icchey Gaon through pine and cinchona, with views over the Teesta valley. An easy, pleasant walk for most ages.
The two villages are about 2.5 km apart along the ridge, connected by a road and village paths. The walk passes through pine plantations with soft needle-covered ground, cinchona slopes and small farms, with the Teesta valley opening to the north. It climbs gently, about 250 m, from Ramdhura to Icchey Gaon.
Allow about 45 minutes each way at an easy pace, more if you stop for photos and tea. Late afternoon is lovely, with golden light on the pines; morning gives clearer views of the mountains. The route is easy to follow, but ask locals for the paths that cut off the road loops.
This is a good walk for families and older travellers who want some exercise without a real trek. Wear comfortable shoes. If you are staying in one village and the other has a homestay you like, you can walk across with a day pack and send your bags by car.
